Spine and Nerve Doctor Ammar Alamarie’s Biography

With board certifications in both anesthesiology and pain management, Dr. Ammar Alamarie brings a high level of expertise to his physician-run practice. A native of Queens, New York, Dr. Alamarie attended Ross University School of Medicine, graduating with high honors, before completing his residency at SUNY Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse, New York and working at the prestigious Newark Beth Israel Medical Center in New Jersey. He brings over a decade of experience in the medical field.

“I am a patient advocate”

As a physician, Dr. Alamarie’s goal is to provide high-quality care with price transparency. Because he is the sole proprietor of his practice, Dr. Alamarie says the medical process, ranging from making an initial appointment to diagnostics and treatment, is streamlined and efficient — there are no hidden fees, he says.

Dr. Alamarie entered the field of medicine after witnessing family members being mistreated for their own struggles with chronic pain. His grandmother suffered from severe rheumatoid arthritis, and his grandfather died from overdose of prescription medication while battling prostate cancer. These experiences shaped the way Dr. Alamarie viewed medicine and made him want to pursue the field to improve diagnostics and treatment.

“I am a patient advocate,” he says. Dr. Alamarie specializes in a range of issues, including neck pain, sports injuries, thoracic pain, upper back pain, knee pain, lower back pain, opioid and non opioid pharmalogical management.

Dr. Alamarie uses a comprehensive approach and tailors treatments to the specific condition and the patients’ requests, whether he’ll recommend surgery, a chiropractor, physical therapy, medication or a combination. Above all, Dr. Alamarie brings honesty and expertise to his practice and says, “I will tailor to the patient’s specific condition by taking a detailed history and physical exam, and using the appropriate diagnostic tools when necessary.”

Dr. Alamarie actively teaches Anesthesiologists who are taking the certification exam. He is an Oral Board instructor for physicians who are taking the American Board of Anesthesiology exam and wants to assure his colleagues are experts like him in the field and are practicing quality evidence base medicine.
